Darling Cellars is a South African winery established in 1948 on the cool West Coast of the Western Cape, producing a de-alcoholised wine range since 2017.

Founded as Mamreweg Wine Cellar in 1948 and rebranded under its current name in 1996, Darling Cellars operates as a private company owned by 20 shareholders who also supply the grapes, tying the winery directly to its vineyards. The brand exports to more than 40 countries, giving its de-alcoholised wines a genuinely international footprint.

The alcohol-free range covers red, white, rosé, and sparkling wine styles. Alcohol is removed using a spinning cone column: a low-temperature method that separates alcohol from the finished wine under vacuum conditions, which helps preserve the aromatic character of each wine that would otherwise be lost if higher temperatures were applied. The wines are reassembled after that process before bottling.

The Darling terroir contributes meaningfully to the character of the base wines. The region's vineyards consist mainly of unirrigated bush vines grown without trellising, which produce low yields of concentrated fruit. Cool Atlantic-influenced temperatures along the West Coast keep the growing season measured, giving Darling Cellars a specific place and growing tradition behind each de-alcoholised style.

The range is available through specialist alcohol-free retailers at mid-range pricing, aimed at sober-curious drinkers who want genuine wine-region provenance in an AF format, backed by more than 75 years of winery history on the South African West Coast.
