French Bloom La Cuvée Vintage 2022 is an alcohol-free sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grown on hilltop plots in the Languedoc, in southern France. It draws on the 2022 solar vintage, a year of exceptional quality for the fruit. The wine is made at full strength, then de-alcoholised by vacuum distillation, a low-temperature process that strips out the alcohol while recovering the wine's original aromas, and only 17,000 bottles were produced. The nose carries candied fruits, figs, dried apricots and hazelnuts. It tastes full, with candied fruit and a trace of nuts that recall an aged Chardonnay, balanced by a fresh acidity and a touch of Mirabelle plum and marmalade.
