About This Drink
Giesen 0% Merlot draws its fruit from vineyards in the Marlborough and Waipara regions, selected by the winemakers for their ability to hold structure through the dealcoholisation process. Prior to alcohol removal, the wine undergoes a brief period of French oak contact, adding toasted character that the brand considers integral to the finished non-alcoholic wine's profile. Giesen Group was the first New Zealand winery to install its own spinning cone column, and this Merlot is processed at that in-house facility. Within the Giesen 0% range it sits as the mid-weight red option, and the winemakers recommend it alongside wood-fired dishes and grilled proteins.
