Giesen 0% Sparkling Brut is the sparkling entry in the Giesen 0% range of non-alcoholic wines. The base is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with fruit selected from vineyards in both the Hawke's Bay and Waipara regions. Before dealcoholisation, the wine is held on yeast lees to develop texture, a step not common in non-alcoholic sparkling production. Giesen developed this expression with a specifically dry, Brut-style profile in mind, targeting lower residual sugar than is typical across the non-alcoholic sparkling category. The winemaking team describes the character as zesty lemon and crisp apple with a persistent bead.
