Jörg Geiger Cuvée d'Hiver is an award-winning alcohol-free mulled wine made in Germany by Manufaktur Jörg Geiger, combining French wine tradition with Swabian craft. It begins with gently de-alcoholised Bordeaux from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the alcohol removed after the wine is finished. Into that go pear wine from Mostbirne (perry pear), sour cherry and blueberry juice, and a touch of honey, with herbs and spices rounding it out. It tastes of dark cherry, elderberry and ripe plum, alongside dried herbs, star anise, cinnamon and a trace of violet. It carries the structure of a Bordeaux, and is meant to be gently heated before serving.
