Andechser Hell
Soft malt, biscuit and floral hops, brewed using multiple mashing, then dealcoholised.
About This Drink
Kloster Andechs brews Andechser Hell, a traditional Bavarian Helles made alcohol-free through gentle dealcoholisation, removing the alcohol after brewing at full strength, using a multiple mashing process, a method of extracting sugars from the grain in several steps. The brewery designed it to keep the balance, body and drinkability of the original beer rather than treat it as just a de-alcoholised version. On the nose, it offers soft malt, biscuit and floral hops. The taste is smooth malt with a subtle sweetness and a delicate hop bitterness, closing with a clean, refreshing, lightly bitter finish and a trace of malt.
