La Gioiosa 0.0 is an Italian alcohol-free sparkling wine made entirely from Glera grapes. Unlike most AF sparkling wines, it is not produced by de-alcoholising wine (a process where wine is first fermented to full alcoholic strength and then the alcohol stripped out). Instead, whole grapes are softly pressed using a pneumatic press (a gentle, air-pressure method), and the resulting grape juice is held in temperature-controlled tanks at 0% until it goes into production. On the nose, it has an intensely fruity aroma of ripe golden apple, pear, exotic fruit salad and citrus. Pale golden in the glass with fine bubbles, it finishes crisp and refreshing.
