About This Drink
Lautus was founded in 2017 by Reg Holder and is widely credited as South Africa's first commercially produced de-alcoholised wine brand, sourcing grapes from the Voor Paardeberg area of the Western Cape. The Chardonnay, one of several styles in the Lautus range, is processed using spinning cone technology, which removes alcohol under vacuum at low temperatures to protect the wine's natural character. It also sees light oak contact, a production detail uncommon among most alcohol-free whites.
