Its ingredients are sourced locally around Ojai, California, built on traditional amaro botanicals like wormwood and horehound, with chicory alongside them. Aromatic spices including star anise and clove fill it out, while fresh orange and organic cane sugar soften the edges, all of it from real ingredients. There is a lot going on, and it drinks warm and smoky, with a finish closer to a real cocktail than a soft drink. It is meant to be sipped slowly after a meal, the way a digestif usually is.
