Elderflower Lager was born out of a collaboration with Wise Bartender, combining Nirvana's slow-lagered fermentation with a generous addition of seasonal elderflower essence. Vienna malts give the lager base its characteristic straw colour and a biscuit sweetness that carries the floral element without letting it tip into cordial territory. Cascade hops go in as a dry hop to bolster the fruity and floral notes before the elderflower does its thing. The result is a summer beer in the most literal sense: pale golden in the glass, with fresh elderflower and citrus blossom on the nose, light biscuit sweetness on the palate, and a clean, gently floral finish. The carbonation is brisk but not aggressive. It drinks easily. Worth noting that this is a limited edition rather than a permanent fixture — availability comes and goes. It is vegan-friendly and contains gluten.
