Chile's Maipo Valley is one of the country's most established Cabernet Sauvignon regions, and No & Low source their red from there before removing the alcohol gently to preserve what they can of the structure. The 2022 leans decidedly lighter than you'd expect from the variety. Don't go in expecting the grip and weight of a full-strength Cab. What you do get is cherry and blackberry on the nose with a breath of soft spice, and the palate follows with bright red fruit and tannin that's soft enough not to interfere. There's a hint of oak influence on the medium-light finish. It reads as a medium-dry, easy-drinking red. Reviewers are split: the converts love it for tasting like actual red wine; those used to full-bodied Cabernet find it too light. Honest assessment: it's not Maipo at its biggest, but it's better than most AF reds. At 40 calories per 100ml it's one of the higher-calorie options in the No & Low range, which reflects the retained sugars and carbohydrates in the base wine.
