Noughty Rouge is an alcohol-free red made from 100% Syrah grown on dryland-farmed vineyards in Darling, South Africa, a region roughly 11 kilometres from the Atlantic coast. Afternoon breezes from the Benguela Current cool the slopes through the growing season, moderating temperatures during ripening. The wine is dealcoholised after fermentation using a spinning cone column, a low-temperature method of separating alcohol from the finished wine, performed under vacuum. Dealcoholisation means the wine was made at full strength before the alcohol was removed.
