About This Drink
Kaineken Pilsner is Õllenaut's take on the continental lager style, brewed at the brewery's home in Saku, Estonia. Like the rest of the Kaineken range, it uses a low-alcohol yeast strain that keeps ABV at 0.5% without the heat treatment that can strip a lighter beer of its character. It pours clear pale straw with a tidy white head. The aroma is subtle: faint grain, a trace of floral hops, clean throughout. On the palate it is light and lager-crisp, with gentle bitterness and a soft malt sweetness that keeps things balanced. Crucially, it avoids the wort-heaviness that can make lighter non-alcoholic styles difficult to drink. The finish is short and clean. It is not trying to be anything other than a simple, easy pilsner, and it succeeds on those terms.
