About This Drink
Wonderleaf Rosé follows the same formula as the original Wonderleaf but with a distinctly different botanical focus. Raspberry and hibiscus take the lead, pushing juniper into a supporting role and giving the liquid a pale pink colour derived from natural concentrates — apple, safflower, lemon, sweet potato and carrot — rather than artificial dye. The nose is fruity and floral, with hibiscus florals and fresh raspberry sitting above a quieter herbal base. On the palate it is softer and a touch rounder than the original, though still light-bodied and sugar-free. A linden blossom note emerges in the finish, which ties it back to the core Wonderleaf range. Like the original, it clocks in at effectively no calories and no sugar. It works particularly well in a rosé G&T or mixed with elderflower tonic. The fruit-forward character makes it approachable if the herbal dryness of standard AF gins feels too austere. Whether it reads as a pink gin alternative or a standalone AF spirit is a reasonable question — the answer is probably somewhere between the two.
