0.0% Spritz
An AF Italian-style aperitivo made from dealcoholised Italian liquor, blended with blood orange, rhubarb, gentian and angelica in Grasse. Zero sugar, vegan, gluten free.
About This Drink
The Sober Spritz follows the same logic as the rest of the range: take real Italian liquor, remove the alcohol in Grasse using perfumery extraction, then blend in the botanicals that define the aperitivo category. Here that means blood orange, bitter orange, rhubarb, gentian, and angelica. It lands very close to the aperitivo category benchmark. Blood orange leads on the nose, with gentian bitterness coming through on the palate and a dry, herbal finish. The colour is a vivid orange-red. At 78 calories per 100ml it is the most caloric in the range, though still sugar-free, which is interesting given the perceived sweetness. That comes from the carbohydrates in the dealcoholised liquor base rather than added sugar. The obvious serve is over ice with a splash of sparkling water and a slice of orange. The bitterness is properly present here, not politely implied, which separates it from some of the tamer AF aperitivos on the market.
