Sober Spirits

Founded by Calixte, the brand builds each product from authentic distilled spirits before removing the alcohol and refining the result through infusions, macerations, and complementary distillations. Hydrodistillates and botanical extracts are used throughout.

The production path varies by category. The whisky alternative begins as spirit aged for three years in barrels in Scotland, which is then redistilled in the French pot stills and further redistilled with torrefied wood bark; it incorporates hazelnuts and malted barley. The amaretto starts as a distillate at 28% vol in Italy before the alcohol is extracted in Grasse, France, and the liquid redistilled at the 1875 facility with bitter almonds, hazelnuts, morello cherry and French oak bark. The rum is first distilled at 65% abv and then redistilled in the century-old pot stills with French oak bark. The gin contains juniper as a core ingredient. The aperitivo is made from dealcoholised liquor, meaning real liquor from which the alcohol has been removed, and contains blood orange, bitter orange, rhubarb, gentian and angelica as well as gin extract and bitter almond extract; the drinks in this range are sugar-free.

The whisky range is positioned as the world's first alcohol-free distilled spirits made from an authentic 3-year-old whisky; the aperitivo as the world's first alcohol-free aperitivo made from real dealcoholised liquor. The portfolio spans whisky and bourbon-style alternatives, gins, rums, amarettos and aperitif-style drinks. Several of the brand's drinks have picked up awards.

Sober Spirits is available through multiple retail channels and sits in the premium bracket. The range has natural appeal for sober-curious drinkers and people in recovery.
