About This Drink
Surely's Sparkling Rosé is the most approachable wine in their range, packaged in 250ml cans that make it easy to pour a glass without opening a full bottle. The base is dealcoholised Barbera rosé from California, blended with peach concentrate, Sauvignon Blanc concentrate, and gum arabic for texture. It's a more constructed product than a straight dealcoholised wine — the fruit concentrates do a lot of work that alcohol would normally do in a conventional rosé. The flavour profile leans fruity: strawberry and peach come through clearly, with some raspberry and a mild grapefruit-like acidity on the finish. It's not a serious wine-drinker's rosé — the blending gives it a soft, approachable character that works well as a light afternoon pour or at a party where you need an AF option that reads as celebratory. At around 16 calories and 1.2g sugar per 100ml, it's genuinely low in both. It picked up a Silver at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2022. Primarily a US brand, Surely's cans are available through specialist AF retailers in the UK, where the 4-pack of 250ml cans at around £27 represents fair value for the format.
