About This Drink
Implosion is an alcohol-free pale ale brewed by To Øl at their own brewery in Denmark. Rather than removing alcohol after fermentation, the low strength comes from a special low-alcohol yeast, used alongside Maris Otter barley malt and a touch of wheat malt. Citra and Mosaic are among the hops in the recipe. The beer is pale yellow and hazy in the glass, with a large head of foam. Fresh hop aromas come first, followed by grapefruit, passionfruit, sherbet, lemon, bubblegum and banana on the nose. The palate brings mango, grapefruit, peach and lemon, with peachy character from the yeast and a slight sweetness. The body is full with a soft mouthfeel. It is part of To Øl's wider Implosion series, which also includes lager and sour variants.
