Verdant Psych IPA was developed as the alcohol-free counterpart to the brewery's Lightbulb Extra Pale Ale, with six months of recipe refinement before release. Rather than using dealcoholisation hardware, Verdant relies on the NoLa yeast strain combined with a high mash temperature to create a wort rich in unfermentable sugars, giving the beer body and mouthfeel without the thin or wort-like character common to many non-alcoholic beers. The hop build follows a classic Verdant structure: piney Chinook at the fore, leading into the tropical citrus character of the remaining four hop varieties. The beer is hopped to the same saturation levels as the brewery's regular IPA range.
