Waitrose Sparkling Chardonnay is an alcohol-free aromatised sparkling white made from Chardonnay grapes ripened under the Spanish sun and produced in Germany. To preserve the fruit, the wine is gently de-alcoholised using low-temperature vacuum distillation, a method that warms it under reduced pressure so the alcohol evaporates without heat damage. Peach and melon come through on the nose, with a yeasty character behind them. It finishes crisp and citrusy, and it is lightly carbonated.
