Piquant
A 0.0% white from La Mancha built on 100% Airén, clean and citrusy with a hint of chilli.
About This Drink
Wednesday's Domaine Piquant was one of two debut products from the brand, aimed at mid-week drinkers looking for an alcohol-free white wine that works on its own terms rather than as a direct substitute for a specific vintage. The base is 100% Airén, a grape variety native to the La Mancha region of central Spain. The alcohol is removed using a spinning cone column, a low-temperature method that separates alcohol from the finished wine while helping to preserve its character. The recipe also includes a deliberate addition of chilli extract in the natural flavourings, which replicates the mild throat warmth that alcohol would otherwise provide. The brand describes the profile as clean, crisp and citrusy.
