Wednesday's Domaine

Shipley founded the brand to provide a wine-format drink suited to mid-week social occasions without the all-or-nothing framing that had dominated the conversation around sober drinking. Wednesday's Domaine was incorporated in May 2021 as an independent micro-producer. The first products launched in early 2022 and the range expanded in 2023, bringing the collection to a small portfolio across two tiers.

The production method goes beyond straightforward dealcoholisation. Wednesday's Domaine sources base wines from La Mancha's sun-intensive vineyards, then blends the de-alcoholised wine with natural flavours and botanical extracts. This blending stage is designed to restore the body and textural complexity that alcohol removal can diminish: when alcohol is stripped from wine, the liquid can lose the structure and mouthfeel it would otherwise carry. Adding botanical extracts and natural flavours at this point is central to how the brand differentiates itself from simpler de-alcoholised alternatives.

The range is organised into two tiers: a core set at a more accessible price point and a premium upper tier aimed at sober-curious drinkers seeking greater complexity. Both tiers sit within the mid-range to premium bracket for AF wine alternatives.

Distribution covers direct-to-consumer, specialist alcohol-free retailers, and mainstream online grocery channels. The multi-channel approach makes the brand accessible without restricting it to specialist-only audiences. Wednesday's Domaine remains an independent operation, occupying a clear gap between entry-level de-alcoholised products and the more experimental end of the AF wine category.
