WellBeing Match Day Light
A 0.3% English-style pale ale collaboration between WellBeing Brewing and Schlafly, built on a historical St. Louis Brewery recipe with East Kent Golding, Northdown, and Pilgrim hops.
About This Drink
Match Day Light came out of an unlikely partnership: WellBeing Brewing teaming up with Schlafly Beer to revive a recipe from The St. Louis Brewery that dates back decades. It was built to drink alongside football — the soccer kind — and the English pale ale base suits the brief well. London yeast and Essex Chocolate malt give it a bready, malt-forward character that feels more traditional pub than craft-taproom. The hop bill of East Kent Golding, Northdown, and Pilgrim keeps things restrained and earthy rather than citrus-forward. Light mouthfeel, mild bitterness, and a slightly roasted malty finish. At 35 calories a can it is one of the lower-calorie options in WellBeing's range, and the vegan-friendly recipe uses no animal-derived clarifying agents. It is marketed as a sessionable pint you can have throughout a game, and structurally it delivers on that — nothing demands your attention, nothing overstays its welcome.
