The brand is owned by Swinkels Family Brewers, an independent family business now led by the Swinkels family for seven generations. Bavaria's 0.0% range is produced using a brewing process in which no alcohol is formed during fermentation at all, meaning there is nothing to extract or remove afterwards. The brewery has refined and developed that approach across nearly five decades of AF beer production. Bavaria also draws on its own natural mineral water source beneath the Lieshout site and operates its own malting house, providing direct control from raw ingredients through to finished product, a level of vertical integration rare even among larger brewers.

Bavaria's early move into alcohol-free beer found an established audience in the Middle East during the 1970s and 1980s, where religious prohibitions on alcohol created strong demand for AF alternatives among halal drinkers. That early international foothold shaped the brand's global ambitions: Bavaria now exports to more than 130 countries.

The 0.0% range covers pilsners, wheat beers, IPAs, and fruit-flavoured malt drinks in tropical and berry styles, making Bavaria one of the more extensive AF beer lineups produced by a single brewer. The core pilsner variant is widely stocked through mainstream supermarkets, while the broader flavoured range sits at the more specialist end of the distribution picture.

Bavaria's position in the AF beer category is defined by longevity: nearly five decades of alcohol-free brewing experience, an early international market in a region where AF beer found demand before it became mainstream in Europe, and an ingredient supply chain controlled at each stage from water source through to malt.
