Genie Drinks

Registered in Covent Garden and operating as an independent company, the brand launched its first products in 2018: a line of probiotic live sodas, fermented drinks that carry naturally occurring beneficial bacteria from the brewing process. Genie Drinks expanded into its current Kombucha Soda format in 2019, blending fermented tea with natural fruit juices to create something that sits between a traditional kombucha and a sparkling soft drink in character. Both the live soda and kombucha soda approaches share the same functional foundation: fermentation-derived complexity without added sugar or artificial ingredients.

All products are 100% vegan. The clean-ingredient approach, no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no artificial additives, forms the core of what Genie Drinks offers and has remained consistent from the first launch through to the current range.

The founding brief was to give consumers a more interesting option than sugary sodas, and that positioning has remained consistent since 2018. The range is compact, built around a handful of flavour-led kombucha soda variants, appealing to sober-curious drinkers who want complexity and function rather than empty sweetness.

Distribution is through specialist alcohol-free retailers and the brand's own direct channel. Genie Drinks sits in a functional fermented-drinks niche alongside kombucha and adaptogen producers rather than squarely within the AF beer or spirits category.
