Force Majeure
Force Majeure is a Belgian alcohol-free beer brand founded in 2019 by triathlete Stijn Panis, who noticed a lack of specialty AF beers while preparing for a triathlon.
Panis launched Force Majeure by combining his appetite for specialty beer with entrepreneurship, building a brand that claims to be Belgium's first specialist alcohol-free beer brand. The brand also states it is the only brewery in Belgium to focus exclusively on beers without alcohol.
Force Majeure operates as a gypsy brewery, a model in which brewing takes place at external facilities rather than a brewery the brand owns. The beers are brewed without alcohol, with recipes built on water, barley malt, hops, yeast, herbs and sucralose. The range spans classic Belgian beer styles, including blonds, kriek-style wheat beers and dubbels. One of its beers has picked up an award.
The brand's roots in triathlon training make it a natural fit for fitness-focused drinkers and those looking for alcohol-free versions of traditional Belgian beer styles. Force Majeure sells through multiple channels.
