Ghia is a spirits-free apéritif brand launched in June 2020 by Melanie Masarin, inspired by the bitter aperitivo cultures of France and Italy and positioned as an adaptation of that tradition for modern drinkers. The brand takes its name from Italian car designer Giacinto Ghia, and Masarin serves as CEO.

The drinks are made with botanical extracts, natural nervines (plant ingredients associated with calming the nervous system), and plant-derived juices. The flavour profile is bright and bitter, carrying notes of yuzu and florals. The botanical lineup includes yuzu, elderflower, lemon balm, gentian root, ginger, and orange, alongside white grape juice. Ghia makes several of its key extracts in-house using a proprietary extraction process, covering ginger, orange, and rosemary.

The recipe has evolved since launch. Fig, present in the original formula, was later replaced by a combination of date, plum, and rhubarb root. The brand now sources its grape juice from Argentina. All extracts and juices used are natural; Ghia does not incorporate adaptogens, hemp, or CBD.

The range covers a signature bitter apéritif and a line of canned spritzes first released in April 2021. The cans are 100% recyclable. Ghia reported $2.5 million in first-year sales and was valued at $50 million in 2024.

Ghia is designed to be safe during pregnancy and has been used at post-run club events, appealing to fitness-focused audiences and those seeking an alcohol-free aperitif alternative. The brand is available through multiple retail channels.
