JumpShip is Scotland's first and only dedicated alcohol-free brewery, founded by Sonja Mitchell after she left her marketing career and set out to brew the satisfying alcohol-free craft beers she found were missing from the market.

Mitchell, a seasoned sailor, beer lover, and mother of three, enrolled in a brewing course, found a brewer, and developed the first recipe: a lager with less than 0.5% alcohol. The brewery operates from Rosemains Steading in Pathhead, Midlothian, a short drive from Edinburgh, and was initially registered as Southside Brewing Ltd before the JumpShip name took hold. JumpShip runs a 20-hectolitre facility.

The brewery produces its beers without using harsh processes to strip alcohol. Barley and oats feature as core grain ingredients throughout the range, and only natural ingredients are used. The lineup spans lagers, pale ales, IPAs, and goses. Hop sourcing draws from New Zealand, Australia, North America, and Europe, with British hops also appearing across parts of the range alongside varieties such as Sabro, Azacca, and Australian Galaxy.

The brewery runs on 100% renewable energy and donates at least 10% of its profits to charities nominated by customers. One beer in the range was developed with direct input from crowdfund investors, and cans were chosen as the primary packaging format from the outset.

JumpShip brews for craft beer drinkers seeking alcohol-free styles and is available through multiple retail channels as well as directly through the brand's own site.
