Vallformosa
Vallformosa is a Spanish sparkling wine producer founded in 1865 in Vilobí del Penedès, Catalonia, whose alcohol-free range brings five generations of Cava-making heritage into the 0.0% category. The Domènech family established the winery in the heart of the Penedès wine region, and the business remains family-owned today, now in its fifth generation of management. Vallformosa works with more than 500 associated vine-growing families across over 3,000 hectares of vineyards, giving the brand an unusually deep rootedness in the local terroir for a producer of its scale. The brand exports to more than 50 countries, making it one of the more internationally distributed Cava houses to have committed to an AF line.
Vallformosa launched its first alcohol-free sparkling wine around 2014, making it an early mover in the dealcoholised sparkling category. The 0,0 range uses a physical dealcoholisation process that the brand says preserves the aromas of the original wine. The label covers sparkling wine in both white and rosé styles, alongside the Mistinguett sub-line, named as a tribute to the early twentieth-century French entertainer. The core 0,0 White is the most widely available variant through specialist alcohol-free retailers.
The brand positions itself for sober-curious drinkers who want a celebratory sparkling option with genuine provenance behind it. With a broad international footprint and a heritage dating back over 150 years, Vallformosa occupies a distinct position in the AF sparkling category: a traditional Cava house rather than a purpose-built AF brand.
