The spirulina contributes nothing to the flavour, but the visual effect makes it one of the more striking cans in the range. The aroma is tropical and generous. Mango comes first, ripe and fleshy, followed by banana and then a fresher kiwi note that adds tartness to the sweetness. On the palate, the three fruits interweave: mango and banana bring sweetness and body, kiwi sharpens it. The lacto-sour base holds it together and keeps the finish lively rather than cloying. Body is on the thicker side, consistent with the rest of the Gelato range, and the carbonation is moderate. Three fruits in a non-alcoholic sour is ambitious. Here it works, mostly because the kiwi stops the mango and banana from slipping into syrup territory.
