The long drink is a Finnish tradition that A. Le Coq has borrowed and run with in their Estonian range. This non-alcoholic version uses fermented apple juice as its base rather than a spirit, with grapefruit flavouring layered over the top to get you somewhere close to the original format. It pours lightly hazy, orange-pink in colour, with gentle fizz. Grapefruit comes through clearly on the nose alongside citrus zest and a faint herbal note. On the palate there's a decent push and pull between sweetness and tartness: fruit-forward up front, then a slightly tart citrus finish. At 7.3g of sugar per 100ml, it's not overly sweet. Serve well chilled over ice. Works as a standalone summer drink or as a mixer substitute for those who want the format without the alcohol.
