Super 8 Flandrien 0.0
A Belgian blonde at 0.0%, brewed with top fermentation at Haacht and then dealcoholised, with the volatile aromatics added back in to keep it from tasting stripped.
About This Drink
The process here is more considered than most. Haacht fully ferments Super 8 Flandrien before removing the alcohol, then reintroduces the volatile aroma compounds that would otherwise be lost, which is why it doesn't smell like warm bread water. What you get is a soft, biscuity malt base with a faint vanilla note and some light floral hops on the nose. The palate is gentle, dry at the finish, with enough hop bitterness (IBU 20) to give it some shape. Carbonation is lively. It pours a slightly deeper gold than you might expect from a blonde. It is not a complex beer, but it is a tidy one. Straightforward, dry, and honest about what it is.
