About This Drink
Schneider Weisse is known for its wheat beers, but this comes from a separate sister operation: the Landbrauerei in Lower Bavaria, which revived an old family Helles recipe in alcohol-free form. The result is straightforward and honest. Bright golden yellow in the glass with a fine white head, it follows the Helles template closely: soft bready malt up front, a touch of honey sweetness, and Hallertauer hops providing floral and grassy edges without intruding. The body is light and the carbonation moderate. Bitterness is kept low, which is true to style. The finish fades cleanly with a subtle hop dryness that keeps it from going flat in the mouth. There's nothing showy here, but that's the point. It's an easy-drinking lager that suits food or an afternoon outside. Under 0.5% ABV, low sugar, and brewed under German purity law.
