About This Drink
Le Spritz Blood Orange takes Ghia's core botanical base, lemon balm, gentian root and rhubarb, and runs it through Sicilian blood orange and lemon juice concentrates. It comes in an 8.4oz can, already carbonated. The colour is a deep, moody copper-orange. It smells of blood orange peel and orange blossom, with a faint herbal note from the marjoram and ginger underneath. On the palate it's immediately juicy and bright, the blood orange giving it a sweetness that the Sumac & Chili version doesn't have. Gentian root pulls back with a clean, light bitterness on the finish. Of the Le Spritz cans, this one sits closest to the profile of a classic bitter citrus aperitif. Pour straight from the can over ice, or into a wine glass with a slice of orange.
