Ginger Mule
An alcohol-free take on the Moscow Mule, built on spicy ginger and lime in a 250ml can.
About This Drink
The Ginger Mule is Sir James 101's version of the Moscow Mule template: ginger, lime, something fizzy. Strip out the vodka and you're left with the fundamentals of the cocktail, which is what they've done here. It is a simple premise, and the execution is competent. The aroma leans into ginger straight away, with fresh lime underneath. On the palate you get the sweetness first, then the ginger heat builds through the mid-palate, and the lime acidity cuts through at the finish. The carbonation is lively. It is pleasant and easy drinking, though the sweetness is more prominent than you might want. Serve in a copper mug with ice and a wedge of lime to lean into the cocktail reference. It works well as a standalone soft drink too, particularly if you want something with a bit of spice rather than just sweetness.
