Matchatini is a concentrated spirit in a bottle, designed to be poured in 2oz (60ml) measures over ice or mixed with oat milk or sparkling water. The matcha is ceremonial grade, sourced from Uji, Japan, and combined with Ashwagandha, Maca Root and Maitake mushroom extract, plus maple syrup, vanilla and a touch of chlorophyll for colour. The pour is a vivid bottle green. The nose is clean and grassy: fresh matcha with soft vanilla sweetness and a hint of maple. On the palate it is creamy and smooth, the matcha bitterness well-integrated with the vanilla and maple rather than fighting it. Maca Root adds a faint earthy undertone. The finish is pleasantly tart and dry, with the matcha character lingering. At 40mg caffeine per serve this sits at roughly half a small coffee. The savoury-leaning, slightly bitter character makes it feel more considered than the sweeter canned Kin drinks. The matcha quality comes through clearly, which is not always the case with functional drinks that use it as a marketing handle.
