About This Drink
Haar takes its name from the cold sea fog that rolls in off the North Sea and settles over Edinburgh — though the beer itself is anything but grey. It's a New England IPA hopped heavily with Sabro, a variety with an unusual ability to express coconut and tropical fruit alongside more conventional citrus notes. The result is something that genuinely resembles a piña colada in aroma, which is either your thing or it isn't. In the glass it pours a hazy golden with a dense white head. The nose delivers mango, pineapple, and a distinctive coconut character that Sabro is known for. The bitterness is kept soft — this is a NEIPA after all — so the fruit has room to breathe throughout the sip. The body is medium with a smooth, slightly velvety texture that suits the style. The finish is clean and leaves a gentle tropical residue. Vegan and gluten-free, like the rest of the JumpShip range.
