Weissbier Alkoholfrei
An alcohol-free Weissbier from the Bavarian royal brewery König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg, with the classic banana and clove character of the hefeweizen style.
About This Drink
König Ludwig has royal connections — the Kaltenberg castle brewery was established by Wittelsbach nobility, and the name refers to King Ludwig, the Bavarian royal house. The Weissbier Alkoholfrei follows the same recipe traditions as their alcoholic range, using malted wheat and hefeweizen yeast with the alcohol removed afterwards through a careful production process rather than simply stopping fermentation early. The result carries the Weissbier hallmarks: banana and clove from the yeast, a light golden pour with characteristic haziness, and a frothy white head. The banana tends to lead, with the clove adding spice and a citrus note from the hops rounding things out. It's a mild-mannered, food-friendly beer — better with a late breakfast or alongside a light meal than as a standalone session option. At 19 calories per 100ml with essentially no sugar, it sits among the lighter AF beers nutritionally. Bavarian wheat beer without the afternoon consequence.
