About This Drink
The Cuvée Originale Rosé blends two grapes that approach wine from different directions: Colombard brings citrus freshness and lively acidity, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds a little dark fruit depth and colour. The alcohol is removed by vacuum distillation at low temperature, which Moderato argues gives a cleaner result than conventional column dealcoholisation because the aromatics have less heat exposure. In the glass it is a pale salmon pink. The nose is fresh and floral — red berry and a citrus note, with nothing heavy or confected. On the palate it is light and lively, with a bright acidity that keeps it feeling like wine rather than grape juice. The sugar content sits at around 3g per 100ml, which is low enough that it does not taste sweet. At 15 kcal per 100ml it is very low calorie. A credible option for something pink and still at the table, particularly if you want something that works as an aperitif without drawing attention to itself.
