About This Drink
This is the flagship of the Pop Cultures range — the one that's won them recognition. Jun kombucha starts with green tea and honey rather than the more common black tea and refined sugar combination, giving it a lighter body and less of the sharp vinegar edge that puts some people off kombucha. The oak barrel ageing adds another layer, lending a faint woody smoothness to what is fundamentally a live, tart drink. Ginger drives the flavour here, and it's the real thing — fresh-juiced rather than extracted or powdered. The heat builds gradually rather than hitting immediately, with lime cutting through to keep it bright. Honey reads more as a textural softness than as sweetness; the fermentation works it down, so this isn't a sweet drink by any stretch. Natural carbonation only, so the bubbles are fine and persistent rather than aggressively fizzy. Shipped refrigerated, which tells you it's a genuinely live product.
