About This Drink
Clock End is Athletic Brewing's collaboration with Arsenal Football Club, named after the famous end at Emirates Stadium. It's a red ale rather than a stout, brewed to a broadly approachable profile: amber in colour, medium-bodied, with the malt doing most of the heavy lifting. Roasted grain and caramel come through first on both the nose and palate, with dark stone fruit — think prune and dried cherry — adding depth without pushing the drink into porter territory. The bitterness is present but kept in check, finishing clean and smooth rather than dry and resinous. Nothing about this is trying to be challenging. The UK product page gives 22 calories per 100ml and 1.1g sugar per 100ml, which puts it at the lighter end of the Athletic range. Availability is limited: Emirates Stadium, selected London retailers, and the Athletic UK website while stock lasts. Vegan. Worth picking up if you're in the right postcode — it's a solid drinking red ale with a strong sense of occasion.
