Rosé Sparkling
A salmon-pink alcohol-free sparkling rosé from Domaine La Colombette in the Languedoc, made entirely from Grenache and dealcoholised to leave a dry, berry-forward fizz.
About This Drink
Baron de Chanteclerc Rosé comes from Domaine La Colombette, a Languedoc estate that has spent the best part of two decades working on alcohol removal. The wine starts life as a proper dry Grenache rosé, then goes through dealcoholisation before CO2 is added to create the sparkle. The result sits at 0.5% ABV. In the glass it's a clean salmon pink. The nose is straightforwardly fruity — ripe strawberry and raspberry with a hint of fresh spice. On the palate it's dry rather than sweet, with fine bubbles and a rounded mouthfeel. Stone fruit comes through alongside the red berry character, and the finish is brief but reasonably clean. At 35g of residual sugar per litre it reads technically dry, though you'll notice the fruit sweetness. Widely available from UK retailers including Adnams. An uncomplicated AF sparkling rosé that holds its own as an aperitif or at the table.
