NEIP-AH
A <0.5% New England IPA from Utrecht brewery Vandestreek, hopped with Sabro and Mosaic for tropical fruit character and a soft, creamy body.
About This Drink
Vandestreek is a Utrecht-based craft brewery that was among the first in the Netherlands to take non-alcoholic brewing seriously. Their Playground IPA — often described as the most-awarded AF IPA in the world — put them on the map, and the NEIP-AH is a more recent addition to the non-alc range, specifically in the hazy New England style. NEIP-AH (the name is a nod to the style: NEIPA without the alcohol) is brewed with Sabro and Mosaic hops on a base of barley malt, wheat, and oats. That grain bill is deliberate — oats contribute the soft, pillowy body that makes a NEIPA feel round and full rather than thin. The hop combination leans tropical: Sabro tends to bring coconut and stone fruit notes, Mosaic adds blueberry and citrus. IBU 20 means the bitterness is restrained, with the fruit doing most of the talking. At less than 0.5% ABV and 330ml can format, it sits comfortably in the AF range available directly from the Vandestreek website. If you're already familiar with their Funhouse NEIPA and want more of the same, this is a close sibling.
