Sparkling Rosé
La Gioiosa's Italian 0.0% sparkling rosé, made from grape must with notes of pomegranate and rose petal.
About This Drink
La Gioiosa has been making Prosecco in the Treviso hills of the Veneto since 1974, and their alcohol-free range applies the same region-rooted approach to non-alcoholic production. This sparkling rosé is made from grape must rather than from wine that has subsequently had its alcohol removed — a distinction that shapes both the flavour and the price point. In the glass it shows a pale salmon-pink with fine, persistent bubbles. The aromatics are genuinely pretty: pomegranate, fresh rose petal, and a hint of something gently floral in the background. On the palate it's soft and rounded rather than grippy — no real tannin to speak of, and a clean, slightly sweet finish. It won't fool anyone who's expecting Champagne, but it's one of the more elegant options at this end of the market and handles a celebration glass well enough. Widely available in UK supermarkets and AF specialists. Priced accessibly for what it is, and better than most of the rosé options in its bracket.
