About This Drink
The Cuvée Originale Blanc is Moderato's entry-level white, blending two aromatic varieties: Sauvignon Blanc for its grassy, citrus-led brightness, and Colombard for the tropical fruit and freshness it brings in Gascony's climate. Both grapes are chosen for character rather than neutrality, which matters when you are working without alcohol — the aroma has to carry the whole experience. It pours pale yellow with a slight green tinge. The bouquet is citrus-forward: grapefruit, tangerine, and white flowers with a light exotic fruit note underneath. Sip it and you get the same brightness on the palate — a clean, lively acidity that keeps it tasting more like wine than grape juice. There is no added sugar, and it shows: the finish is dry rather than sweet. It sits comfortably as an aperitif or alongside lighter food. At around 7x fewer calories than a conventional white wine and served well chilled, it is one of the more honest AF whites at this price point.
