About This Drink
Addiction is an organic alcohol-free red wine from Ribera del Duero, one of Spain's most demanding wine regions. Made entirely from Tempranillo grown at altitude in the Quintana del Pidio area, the wine undergoes cold maceration to preserve aromatics, then native-yeast fermentation in stainless steel at low temperature. A short period in oak follows twelve months of lees ageing before low-temperature alcohol removal. The pour is a deep garnet. The nose is complex from the outset: dark cherry, blackcurrant, and plum open the wine, with graphite, dried herbs, and a touch of pepper following. On the palate, the structure is firm and layered, with silky tannins that unfold over time. Red and black fruits dominate the mid-palate, underpinned by mineral tension and earthy notes. Decanting opens up the wine and softens the tannin frame. The most food-friendly red in the Oddbird range. Good alongside slow-cooked lamb, game, aged Manchego, or any dish that benefits from a tannic, structured red. Serve at 16-18°C.
