BezalkØ Raspberry Cold Brew Sour Ale
Alcohol-free sour ale brewed with freshly pressed Polish raspberry juice and cold brew coffee from a Tarnów roastery. An unusual combination that actually works.
About This Drink
This is a beer that looks strange on paper. Raspberry juice and cold brew coffee don't have an obvious shared home in a sour ale, but Trzech Kumpli brewed their first batch in December 2024 and managed to make the combination land. The coffee comes from Darvea, a Tarnów roastery, selected for low-acidity beans with chocolate and nutty character. On the nose, those roasted notes sit alongside jammy raspberry in a way that's layered rather than muddled. In the mouth, the raspberry brings juicy fruit acidity and freshness; the coffee provides a smooth, roasted counterpoint. Oat flakes in the grain bill keep the texture soft and velvety, which helps tie the two together. The sour character is gentle rather than sharp, so this reads more approachable than a classic Berliner weisse or gose. At 21 kcal per 100ml and confirmed vegan, it's a genuinely original alcohol-free beer. The raspberry and coffee combination is odd enough to be worth trying.
