Frutollo

Alcohol-free fruit sour from Browar Nepomucen, brewed with raspberry and blackcurrant juice on a rye and wheat base.

About This Drink

Frutollo sits somewhere between a Berliner Weisse and a fruit-forward Gose, with more berry intensity than most beers in either style. The grain bill is rye and wheat malt, fermented with lactic acid bacteria, then heavily dosed with raspberry and blackcurrant juice. It pours a deep red with a pink tinge. Raspberry jam leads the nose alongside blackcurrant leaf and a clean yoghurt-like lactic note. The taste follows through honestly: raspberry is upfront, tart and genuine, followed by the darker, more tannic character of blackcurrant. Lactic acidity runs through the finish, dry without being harsh. The body is light and lively. One of the more approachable entries in Nepomucen's sour range.
