Zenzero

A non-alcoholic ginger drink from Browar Nepomucen, brewed on a light malt base with real ginger, lactose and hops. Intensely aromatic with a warming spiced finish.

About This Drink

Zenzero takes its name from the Italian word for ginger, and ginger is unambiguously the main event. Nepomucen brew this on a light barley, wheat and rye malt base, using ginger as the primary flavour alongside lactose and hops. It sits closer to a ginger beer than a traditional ale, but the malt base and fermentation process give it more depth than a commercial ginger ale. The pour is light golden and hazy with fine-pored foam. On the nose, ginger aromatics are immediate and intense, backed by a faint citrus note and a hint of bready malt. The taste opens sweet, ginger right at the front, spicy and warming, followed by a modest hop bitterness. Lactose adds a subtle creaminess to the body. The finish has genuine bite, a ginger-driven heat that lingers. An unusual entry in their range, and a capable mixer if you want to use it that way.
