About This Drink
Ginsin is made by Espadafor in Andalucia, and the 12 Botanics is their core expression. The botanical lineup is gin-adjacent: juniper, cardamom, coriander, lemon, bitter and sweet orange, cinnamon, orange blossom, violet hibiscus, lavender and myrtle. That's a considered list, and the infusion-and-blending approach rather than fermentation means what you get is the botanicals directly rather than a fermented spirit. On the nose it's immediately citrus-forward — lemon and orange peel lead, with the lavender and hibiscus adding a floral lift behind them. Juniper is present but not assertive. The palate is bright and zesty, with a citrus core and an herbal background that gives it some structure. The finish has a slight bitterness that makes it more useful as a mixer than something drunk straight. Mixed with tonic and ice it performs reasonably well in a G&T format, though experienced gin drinkers will notice the absence of alcohol burn. It's best treated as a mixer ingredient rather than a spirit to sip. Customer opinions vary: some find it genuinely gin-like; others find the sweetness level too prominent. At 0.0% ABV it's a solid structural choice for mocktail building.
